Steve + Heather Married!

Here's the long awaited blog for my brother and his new wife!... It was an awesome time we had up in Canada for they're wedding. You'll notice there's a lot of shots that I would normally post missing, like the ceremony, ring shots and more getting ready pictures... Reason being, I was also the best man so I was a little tied up at times lol. Infact, I kept getting sidetracked from taking photos because I was having such a great time talking to everybody because they're all incredible! You worry about who your siblings inlaws are going to be but in this case, I couldn't ask for a better family for my little brother! Welcome to the family Heather! We love you!

It's still pretty strange seeing myself in the wedding party on my blog :P

I actually just flew back in today after my little brother and new sister's wedding in Canada! It was an absolute blast! Now, I'm already getting a little ahead of myself cuz I'm only just now putting up their engagement photos... It was a really hectic December this past year so I'm running a bit behind on the blog and as far as the wedding pics go you're gonna have to wait just a little bit longer while I'm sorting and editing them. But hopefully you'll enjoy these engagement shots we quickly ran out to take right before leaving for Thanksgiving dinner at my grandparents house. These were taken right out in the front "yard"... my family has 45 acres in beautiful upstate NY so maybe it's more of an upper meadow than a yard :)

Real quick I gotta brag on my little brother... He apart from being a volunteer firefighter has just joined the US Army Reserves and will be leaving for basic training and AIT almost immediately following their honeymoon. I couldn't possibly be more proud of the man he's grown into and am so thrilled that God has blessed him with the perfect young woman to call his wife! As for Heather, it takes a very special lady to come alongside a man who will selflessly stand in the gap risking his own life for those who cannot stand for themselves. Heather is that special woman. And we all already love her just as if she'd always been part of our family!

So all that said... I'm thrilled to introduce to you my incredible brother Stephen and his stunning bride Heather! (who at this moment are still honeymooning in sunny, warm Puerto Rico!)

Thanksgiving in Upstate New York!

Home for Thanksgiving! Is there really anything better than that? (other than home for Christmas I suppose but, as an audio engineer that's forfeit anyway lol) We all had so much fun this year and it snowed!... I even got to have a snowball fight with my 10 y/o sister my last day! I know it sounds funny but I think this was the first year we all sat around the table after dinner and said what we were thankful for. Well I think all those years of not having that caused us all to save up a bunch of blubbering emotion... My family is all really close so the waterworks opened up and I think it was the greatest miserable time we've ever all spent together lol

Oh and keep a look out for the next post coming soon... My little brother Stephen and his beautiful fiancee Heather!

Ok well for starters I took 1400 photos this day and had a blast... And 2nd... it's 3 am and I have writers block so I really hope you enjoy the skim pics. Goodnight!

Addendum- Ok it's morning now and I'm a little better rested... These shots were from a few weeks ago but I went to NY for turkeyday and just haven't gotten to posting 'em till now, I know, par for the course. But! There's at least two more posts coming up real soon!

I had a great time shooting these but had a couple real near misses involving the camera and waves lol, not to mention boy did I get my exercise right along with them!... I would run along behind or beside and then drop down and let off a rapid fire burst of shots each time they'd hit the water. It was a fun day for all but, I'd have to say one of my biggest highlights was when I got back to my truck an hr. after my meter ran out and I didn't have a ticket! Ok I gotta run to work so enjoy the skim session with Danny and Silvia!

Disney Trip!

Well it's really sad but we're already home from last weekend's awesome trip to Disney (yes we're big children)... We had an incredible room at the Animal Kingdom Lodge where they showed us some big love and upgraded us to a savanna view room! There's nothing like rolling out of bed, looking out the sliding glass door and seeing giraffe, zebra and a whole host of other animals just walkin around doin whatever african animals do! But the best part was that we had some great company this time... My little sister Laura came down from NY, Alandra's best friend Monica flew in from TX and we even had a quick visit from some good friends from church that go to school in the Orlando area! The more the merrier at Disney! Anyway there's a couple more little stories with some of the shots so check 'em out!

I used to play with the jumping water too when I was young, one time i misjudged it and the same thing happened to me lol... After taking these I ran over to the family and we all huddled up and almost wet ourselves laughing so hard at their faces zoomed in lol

Funny story, after I took this shot one of Disney's photopass photographers came up to me and says "I'm having lens envy..." lol turns out their gear is a little on the amateur side... and as we keep talking she tells me they just told her what settings to use and sent her on her way! She didn't really know how to use a camera!! So we had a quick little crash course on how a camera works and how to use the manual settings lol

Ok so you remember that time WAAAAYYYY back when I promised photos from our NYC trip at the end of December???... Well I finally went back through the old backup hard drive, dusted them off and did a lil touchin up! We had such a blast hangin out as a family and staying in a little flat in Queens all bunched up together on air mattresses lol... Anyway yes I know it's August but everybody loves Christmas so we'll start off there!

And yet another amazing couple have tied the knot!... The ceremony was at Calvary Chapel Plantation (seems to be a growing trend ;P) and the reception was at the always beautiful Jacaranda Country Club. Of course we also got a chance to get away between all the festivities for a few awesome outdoor shots! I can't tell you how much fun thier reception was, even when a glass was broken on the dance floor and the clean-up crew was working diligently to fix the situation they all decided the least they could do was to march around the dance floor in support and admiration of the hard working club staff! It was hilarious! Anyway here's some of my favs from the day........

Ok like all my posts, this one's a long time coming :/ ... This obviously was a beautiful late afternoon ceremony off of Las Olas area New River in Downtown Ft. Lauderdale. It's been a while since I've done an outdoor wedding so this was a great time for me cuz I LOVE working in natural lighting!

The sound system showed up a little late...

Well hi there everybody!... I know I've been a bit lax but I didn't really have much to post cuz my next wedding is the beginning of January... Anyway, I went out to take some Christmas photos for one of my best friends and his family a little while back and we had so much fun I thought I'd post it! The funniest thing was that out of all the shots we took with all four of them only one worked!! Once you see how much energy their boys have you'll understand lol... We all had a blast tho!! I think I had more fun than the boys!

Ok here's some more fun photos from Emily & Rudy's wedding and reception where we had some of the most awesome light coming over the driving range at The Carolia Golf Club right over in Margate. I know that's kinda a run on sentance but I was really excited to get to talking about the sunset lol... Anyway, we had a great time and got some really great shots on the putting green and up on the balcony outside of the banquet hall. Ok... So I know I may have had a lil too much fun playing with the colors for this one but, it was a fun wedding!... so why not make the photos fun and a bit different?! (Don't worry, they'll get all the regular color edits too :) And while I'm explaining things I'm also sorry it's taken me so long to get this post out :( I know those "next few days" I promised turned into a week and a half but I've got a really tight schedule this month so I've been working and editing pretty constant lately. So far I'm actually keeping up with the workload though!

Anyway... These two, and their families and friends were just a great time right off the bat just like Amanda & Jake's wedding... I decided I love doing back to back weddings for the same family... I just end up feeling all warm and fuzzy like I'm part of the family... Well maybe more like a crazy uncle with a camera but hey, that's still family! Hope you like the pics and send me some comments on what you think!

Sorry about the wait for new stuff but I just haven't really shot anything between these two weddings... I got caught up with work and of course THE OLYMPICS! How bout Phelps!?! Unbelievable! When he won his 8th gold I was actually shooting the reception for the awesome couple below... but thanks to Alandra and the trusty new iPhone I got all the info :) It actually all tied in nicely because the guys all decided that morning that the theme for the wedding was going to be Michael Phelps lol... So anyway, now introducing... Olivia & Damien! Stay tuned cuz I'll have the full post out in the next few days or so...

Well hey! It's been a while since I've posted I know, I've been so busy between my regular job and editing the photos from Jake & Amanda's wedding that I haven't really shot anything since... So as far as new stuff goes:

Yes, I did get the new iPhone 3g and yes it is awesome because I can show work, easily see my schedule and even check and respond to all my email accounts super easily... however... I'd say it's more an iEverything... but phone. It drops calls all the time! Oh well, guess that's the price you pay lol

Alandra & I are now on a diet... blah... as much as I miss eating whatever I want it is nice to be back in the gym. Not to mention that we've both already lost some weight and it's only been a week!

I know this post has been a while in the making, but here it is! At long last!

I started out at the bride's family's home in the morning and had an awesome time hanging out with everybody all day!... the really great part is that I'll be doing it all over again with the same cast for Amanda's sister Olivia's wedding in August! So anyway, Alandra and I were so happy to be able to be there and shoot this wedding. Jake and Amanda are really good friends of ours and it's always great to see people you love so happy together! Enjoy!

Curtis & Monica's Wedding

Well as most of you already know... Our good friends Curtis & Monica just got hitched!... The ceremony was yesterday at Calvary Chapel Ft. Lauderdale followed by a beautiful reception at The Daily Grill restaurant. Being that it was actually a work day for me at Calvary, I opted to do the sound in the grill so I could be involved in the reception too :P. Tracy Ann-Jarrett and her husband Martin (who are awesome... and new friends of mine) were the official photographers on duty for the day, but let me tell you, they were definitely not the only ones taking pics lol... It would appear that most of Curtis's friends are photographers! And yes, I was one of the paparazzi too :)

Michelle & Jim's Wedding

Well, it was a week ago yesterday that we shot Michelle & Jim's wedding in Delray Beach, Florida. I was second shooter for Curtis Copeland and we had a blast! Even though I think we probably lost about 10 pounds of water weight between the two of us lol... The wedding was a peaceful, intimate, afternoon ceremony with close friends and family just a stone's throw from the beautiful clear Atlantic Ocean. We went from there to a really fun (air-conditioned :) reception where Marjorie and her team from Markei Events & Productions had set a romantic chill beach theme room perfect for this fun loving group of heavy dancers :)

Ahh... Florida summers... Seabreeze and sweat stains :P

And we can't forget Curtis getting the lighting for the mini studio juuuust right lol

iPhone 3G Is Almost Here!

It's almost that time!... I'm getting so excited!... After a year of drooling over friends iPhone's it's almost time for me to get one of my own!... It's going to be such a relief to have all my scheduling at hand at all times, not to mention the ability to show potential clients samples of my work at any time rather than just giving out cards and reminding them to check out the website. apple = sheer brilliance :)

Here's a few shots from last weeks little session for Pastor Clay Hecocks. He's got a new album coming out soon so I snapped a few shots for the album cover after they finished laying down the tracks... Our Location for the day was Calvary Chapel Fort Lauderdale's recording studio.

There were music sheets thrown all over the floor... Very "composeresque" lol
